Volunteers Needed

Dear Friends,
Special Educational Parents Advisory Committee (SEPAC) has two immediate opportunities for dedicated individuals seeking to volunteer their time for the following.

1) OPEN SEPAC BOARD OFFICER POSITIONS:

Corresponding Secretary

The Corresponding Secretary is responsible for correspondence as directed by the Committee and will also forward proper notices of all called meetings, and other meetings when necessary, to the district for distribution. Will be in charge for the sign-in sheet and post current board minutes on our website
Treasurer
The Treasure will receive all monies from Community Advisory Committee, and keep an accurate record of the committee budget and expenditures, and make a report each month to the membership regarding the balance in the committee budget.
2) MIRACLE LEAGUE OF SAN DIEGO CONCESSIONS STAND:
Starting September 22nd through November 10th SEPAC will be volunteering their time to operate the concessions stand during this season at every Saturday game. All proceeds from the concession stand will be donated to our district special education teacher Wish List. To ensure the success of the concession stand, community volunteers are essential. The Coronado Unified School District, Student Services Department, and the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) are excited to let you know about the Miracle League, a non-profit organization promoting baseball for individuals with disabilities in Coronado for the Fall 2012 Season; September 22 – Nov 10.

For the Fall Season, all player fees will be waived by the Miracle League. We encourage player participants ages 5 and up to register for the season. Registration is now open and will close on August 10, 2012. Should you have questions regarding the Miracle League or to request a registration form for the upcoming season, please go to the Miracle League website below, or contact Gianna Stone with the Miracle League via email at:

SEPAC 2012-2013 BOARD ELECTIONS: Open Ballots, Nominees needed.

The Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) is composed of interested parents, teachers, staff, and service providers within Coronado. SEPAC's collaborative network provides support, information, and advocacy opportunities at regular meetings and educational workshops throughout the school year.

President

The President must be a parent of an individual with exceptional needs currently being served by the local plan and may not be a district employee. The President will preside at all meetings of SEPAC and will sign all letters, reports, and other communications. The President will open the meeting by calling the meeting to order. He/she will announce the business to be acted upon, recognize members entitled to the floor, state and put to vote all questions that are regularly moved, and announce the result of the vote.

Vice-President

The Vice-President must be a parent of an individual with exceptional needs currently being served by the local plan and may not be a district employee. The Vice-President will preside in the absence of the President. As well as be in charge of annual board nominations.

Corresponding Secretary

The Corresponding Secretary is responsible for correspondence as directed by the Committee and will also forward proper notices of all called meetings, and other meetings when necessary, to the district for distribution. Will be in charge of the sign-in sheet and post current board minutes on our website.

Board Member at Large: 

Board member at large helps serve on the board and is a liaison with the community at large.  They help keep up informed on recreational opportunities and other events in and around Coronado.

Past President:

The Past President may continue to serve on the committee for one (1) year after his/her term of office has expired. The Past President’s primary duties are to assist all Committee officers in carrying out their duties.

holding our annual elections on that date and we need nominees for
SEPAC officers and volunteers for the 2012-2013 school year. Walk-in
ballots can be done from now until May 11th at the Student Services
Office in the CUSD District Office.
